FRANKLIN, Ind. – Max Clark, who graduated from Franklin Community High School this year, was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the Major League Baseball (MLB) draft on Sunday evening. He was the third overall pick.
As a senior this year with the Grizzly Cubs, Clark had a batting average of over .600 while playing centerfield.
In June, the 18-year-old was named the 2023 Gatorade National High School Player of the Year.
If he inks an MLB contract with Detroit, Clark will receive a signing bonus of between $7 million and $8 million.
