COLUMBUS, Ind. – Softball equipment for a seven-year-old was among the stolen items recovered from the trunk of a stolen car late Sunday by Columbus Police.
A report from Lt. Matt Harris with the Columbus Police Department said the equipment, along with 13 bags of property, was found inside a stolen car in the 2300 block of Gilmore Street. Many of the stolen items were connected to thefts reported last week. Natasha N. Carr, 28, of Elizabethtown, was arrested for auto theft and possession of stolen property.
Lt. Harris said the thefts are a reminder not to leave valuables in vehicles and not leave vehicles unlocked. Harris added that a majority of thefts are crimes of opportunity.
