NORTH VERNON, Ind. — The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) has added a new K9, Creed, to its organization. JCSO Deputy Max Marcoux traveled to Michigan on Monday to pick up his new K9 partner.
He and Creed will be in Jennings County for a week before going back up to the FMK9 training facility in Michigan for six weeks of intense teaching and instructing on September 11.
There is a long list of tasks that will be covered over the training period. Examples include obedience, area search, article search, building search, tracking, officer protection, aggression control, narcotics detection, first aid, and canine records such as maintaining, training, and tracking.
