SEYMOUR, Ind. – The Seymour Police Department (SPD) responded to a Rebecca Court residence early Thursday morning, December 21, about a home invasion and robbery. Several individuals reportedly unlawfully entered a home, battered the homeowner, and stole items.
Officers gathered statements and reviewed surveillance footage from the area and learned the identities of the suspects involved.
They went to an address in the 900 block of North Park Street and detained two of the possible suspects involved. Evidence was collected from within the residence.
As the SPD investigation developed, detectives allegedly obtained a confession from both.
After acquiring a search warrant for a vehicle located on the property, officers supposedly found additional evidence, and the two men were taken into custody.
David Dakota Hatchett, 31, and Logan Lee Lane, 21, both of Seymour, were charged with Robbery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury (Level 1 felony), Burglary Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury (Level 1 felony), Battery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury (Level 5 felony), and Residential Entry (Level 6 felony).
