GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Greenwood Police Department (GPD) celebrated the retirement of Officer Richard Kelly last Friday.
Officer Kelly served the City of Greenwood for 26 years, earning several commendations, as well as being awarded the Medal of Valor and Officer of the Year.
During his time with GPD, Kelly served as a Patrol Officer, General Detective, Narcotics Detective, K9 Officer, SWAT Team, Entry Team Member, Less Lethal Instructor, Firearms Instructor, Taser Instructor, Assistant Team Leader, and Sniper.
Greenwood Mayor Mark Myers and GPD officials thanked him for his dedicated years of service and for being an inspiration and mentor to others.
