INDIANAPOLIS – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Indianapolis says a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect on Thursday, from 4 to 10 p.m. for a good portion of the state.
The Winter Weather Advisory is active for portions of central, east-central, north-central, south-central, southeast, and west-central Indiana, including Bartholomew, Johnson, Jackson, Jennings, Shelby, Decatur, and Brown Counties.
Light snow is expected with an accumulation of one inch. Winds could gust to 40 mph with wind chill temperatures in the mid-20s. Hazardous conditions and slippery roads could impact the Thursday evening commute.
NWS says accumulations will primarily be on grassy and elevated surfaces, but localized slick spots cannot be ruled out, mostly on bridges and overpasses, or during the heaviest snow showers.
