COLUMBUS, Ind.–A missing license plate on a trailer helped put a Bartholomew County man behind bars late Monday afternoon. Columbus police say Daniel Elifritz, 51, of Columbus, was pulling the trailer in the 600 block of Chestnut Street when they stopped him for not having a plate on the vehicle. While speaking with Elifritz, officers say they noticed a clear bag of narcotics in the vehicle. He was arrested and police allege that while searching the suspect they found more drugs in his clothing. Elifritz was taken to Bartholomew County Jail on charges of possessing marijuana, methamphetamine, and paraphernalia.
