COLUMBUS, Ind. — About 200 people attended a “Stand for Love” rally at the Commons in Columbus on Friday. Since the presidential election, BCSC officials say there have been at least six reports of Hispanic students being bullied.
Peaceful protesters, many dressed in yellow, sang songs, displayed signs and expressed some fear because of the uncertainty created by the outcome of the recent election. Protesters walked from the Commons to Fourth and Jackson Streets, and then back to the Commons.
BCSC superintendent Jim Roberts released a statement about the incidents and attended the rally.
