COLUMBUS, Ind. — The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department has reported an apparent heroin overdose from Monday night.
At 9:41 p.m., deputies found a semi-conscious female in the bedroom of a residence in the 3400 block of West County Road 100 North. A male resident told police he had given the victim CPR prior to their arrival. After being revived the female told police she had been doing heroin. The victim was revived with a dose of narcan administered by Columbus Township Fire personnel. She was then transported to Columbus Regional Health.
Deputies reported they found a clear plastic container with small white rock where the woman was found.
There have been nine overdose deaths in Bartholomew County during 2016.
