COLUMBUS, Ind. — Columbus police arrested Kendric Martin, 22, two times in less than 12 hours Tuesday.
Shortly after midnight Tuesday, police responded to a report of a disturbance involving Martin. Police located and arrested Martin in the 700 block of Union Street. The homeowner told police Martin was kicking the front door and was trespassing on the property.
Later, while responding to a 911 call in the area of Hughes Street and Indiana Avenue about a disturbance around 11:00 a.m., officers again found Martin at the scene. This time, according to law enforcement, he appeared to be under the influence of narcotics. During the investigation, Martin admitted to stealing a cell phone, gave it to police, and was then arrested.
Martin was first transported to Columbus Regional Health. During that trip Martin reportedly kicked, struggled and spit on officers. Martin was then transferred to jail and continued the same behavior while being booked.
Kendric Martin has been charged with felony theft, battery by bodily waste, disorderly conduct, and resisting law enforcement.
