GREENWOOD, Ind. – Authorities at the Greenwood Police Department say that a Greenwood jewelry store was robbed as employees were getting ready to close on Thursday night. Three men dressed in black and wearing face masks entered the Jared-The Galleria of Jewelry store, north of the Greenwood Park Mall, at around 8:30 p.m. and ordered everyone to get on the floor. After breaking a display case, the thieves grabbed handfuls of diamonds and jewelry from the store on County Line Road.
A Greenwood police assistant chief implied it was a well-planned heist as one man guarded the door, one watched the employees and customers, while the third man took the jewelry. Witnesses told police that the robbers got away in a black SUV.
Nobody was injured and law enforcement is still looking for the trio of suspects. The investigation continues.
