COLUMBUS, Ind. – Cummins announced on Wednesday morning that President and COO Rich Freeland is retiring, having served 40 years with the diesel company giant.
After graduating from Purdue University, Freeland joined Cummins in 1979 as a second shift foreman at the Parts Distribution Center in Columbus. He has spent his entire 40-year career with Cummins, where he eventually became Chief Operations Officer in 2014. Freeland will also resign from the company’s Board of Directors on October 15.
“I want to personally thank Rich for his many contributions to Cummins and his friendship and support over the 25 years I have known and worked with him,” said Tom Linebarger, Chairman and CEO of Cummins Inc.
