INDIANAPOLIS — The former fire chief of the New Whiteland Fire Department was one of three first responders injured by an alleged drunk driver in Indianapolis Wednesday night.
Brian Hendrick, 42, was on the scene of a car wreck when a drunk driver struck the vehicle he was working on, authorities said.
The 15-year veteran of the Indianapolis Fire Department was hospitalized overnight and listed in good condition, according to the New Whiteland Fire Department Facebook page.
Another IFD firefighter and one EMT were also hurt in the collision. Both are expected to be okay. The 22-year-old alleged drunk driver was arrested.
