COLUMBUS, Ind. – Two Columbus residents were busted on felony drug-dealing charges after law enforcement recovered narcotics and two firearms during a warrant service at a home early Saturday morning. Members of the CPD SWAT Team served the search warrant shortly after 4 a.m., as a result of an investigation into narcotics activity at a house in the 1200 block of California Street.
SWAT officers arrested Jamontrae Bennett, 25, and Paige Hawksworth, 26, both of Columbus. CPD allegedly found drugs, drug-related items, and handguns during the raid.
Bennett faces charges of dealing cocaine, possession of a firearm by a violent felon, maintaining a common nuisance, dealing marijuana, possession of marijuana, and a Bartholomew County warrant.
Hawksworth was remanded on preliminary charges of dealing cocaine, possession of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia.
