COLUMBUS, Ind. — Columbus police arrested a local man for drug violations after an early morning traffic stop.
Lt. Matt Harris says Shawn Collins, 41, was stopped for driving as a habitual traffic offender on Gladstone Avenue around 3:20 a.m. on Thursday. During the investigation, police determined a passenger, Dan Jessie, 34, was wanted for an outstanding warrant in Bartholomew County. When police searched Jessie they found a syringe and other drug paraphernalia. Next to Jessie in the car was a backpack containing marijuana, digital scales, glass smoking pipes and methamphetamine.
Collins was cited and released at the scene. Jessie was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail.
