COLUMBUS, Ind. — A Columbus resident who was hit by a car last week has died.
Robert Compton was struck Thursday around 6 p.m., on Marr Road near Pavilion Drive. Witnesses told police Compton was walking across the road and was almost hit by one vehicle, and then a few seconds later, was struck by a car driven by Kerri Hobbs, 32, of Columbus. Compton was flown to an Indianapolis hospital with a serious head injury. Hobbs told police she did not see Compton.
