NORTH VERNON, Ind. — North Vernon Police made two arrests after investigating a report of someone pointing a firearm at a person at a local auto parts store on Friday around 5:25 p.m. The victim told officers the suspect’s vehicle had left the scene.
Police located the car in the Walmart parking and began to question the driver, Kore Kirk, 20, of Indianapolis. During the questioning police noticed a female, later identified as Kenisha Jones, 20, of Indianapolis, hiding in the car. While detaining the pair police noticed the strong odor of marijuana. During a search police recovered 175 grams of marijuana in individual packages for sale, a handgun, $480 in cash, $110 in counterfeit money, and a digital scale. It was later determined the handgun was stolen.
Both were taken to the Jennings County Jail. Kirk was charged with dealing in marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. Jones was charged with intimidation with a deadly weapon, possession of stolen property, pointing a firearm, dealing in marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia
