COLUMBUS, Ind. – Bartholomew County Clerk Jay Phelps shared on his Facebook page Thursday that there will be eight locations available for in-person voting on Primary Election Day, Tuesday, June 2.
Because of COVID-19, the Bartholomew County Election Board had to reduce the number of Election Day locations from 16 to eight, due to one-half of the volunteer poll workers dropping out and some vote center locations backing out. The board studied previous voter turnout data to decide which locations to utilize.
The eight sites are (1) Flintwood Wesleyan Church, (2) Donner Center, (3) Terrace Lake Church, (4) Elizabethtown Fire Station, (5) Ogilville United Methodist Church, (6) Hope Moravian Church, (7) German Township Fire Station, and (8) St. John’s Masonic Lodge. No matter where you live in Bartholomew County, you may cast your ballot at any of the eight locations.
Concerning in-person early voting, Donner Center is the only site and it is available on Tuesday, May 26, to Saturday, May 30, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Monday, June 1, from 8 a.m. to noon. The courthouse will not be an early in-person location since the building is still being limited to the public.
