COLUMBUS, Ind. — A Columbus North High School graduate has been recognized by the city for fabricating fuel canisters for fire department vehicles.
Shane Bryant made the canisters in the C-4 Engineering Manufacturing-Welding Technologies program with materials provided by the city. The canisters will be used for the storage of mixed gas for use in two-cycle engines. The fire department uses the fuel mixture in a variety of rescue equipment on fire trucks. The canisters will mount on the wall of the emergency vehicles, preventing fuel spills and providing ease of access.
Shane Bryant, 17, graduated at mid-term and is currently employed by Noblitt Fabricating, Inc.
