COLUMBUS, Ind. — A battery report led to the arrest of a Columbus man Monday night.
Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 1400 block of Tellman Road at about 8:20 p.m. Witnesses told police Steven Richards, 33, physically assaulted three people and ran over a female and a male juvenile with a car. Police found and arrested Richards at his Pearl Street home a short time later. Police say the argument started when the victims would not let Richards drive intoxicated. Richards has been charged with failure to stop after an accident and criminal recklessness.
Two victims were treated and released, and two others refused treatment.
