FRANKLIN, Ind.–A Franklin man was arrested early Friday morning for battery with a deadly weapon after he allegedly stabbed his mother. According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, James Skirvin, 51, of Franklin, entered his mother’s house while heavily intoxicated. He was apparently looking for something to eat and for some reason began kicking a small dog around the house. When his mother asked him to stop, he reportedly grabbed a knife and attempted to stab her in the torso area, but instead he cut her arm. Deputies arrived a short time later and took him into custody. Skirvin was booked into Johnson County Jail for battery with a deadly weapon.
