GREENWOOD, Ind. — Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies recovered 82.6 grams of methamphetamine Thursday afternoon during a disturbance at a home in the 4300 block of County Line Road.
Officers responded to the address on a report of a male holding people hostage with a gun. When they arrived, a neighbor told deputies several people were inside the residence. Police forced their way into the home and found three females and two males hiding. The females were handcuffed and removed from the residence. While deputies were questioning the males, a handgun was found under a mattress.
As deputies exited the house with the male suspects, a neighbor told police one of the females had pulled a package from her pants and thrown it on the ground. Officers reviewed video from their in-car system and verified that claim. When the area was searched, police found a yellow package containing 82.6 grams of methamphetamine. Heather Benham, 45, of New Market, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine.
During the investigation police determined one of the males, Christopher McClure, 49, of Mooresville, was wanted for an outstanding warrant.
Both Benham and McClure were jailed without incident.
