HOPE, Ind. — A Hope resident was killed in a Friday morning single-vehicle accident north of Shafer Lake. The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department says Jesse James Jackson, 34, was driving southbound on County Road 900E, around 4:23 a.m., when he drove off the side of the road and struck a tree. Jackson was thrown from the vehicle that caught on fire after impact.
