NORTH VERNON, Ind. — North Vernon Police arrested a suspected heroin dealer during a traffic stop Wednesday.
Officers pulled-over William Heilman, 23, of North Vernon, at Park Avenue and South Elm Street around 7:30 p.m. Police discovered Heilman had a suspended license, so he was cited and then released at the scene. Since there was no other person available to drive, the car was impounded.
During an inventory search of the vehicle police found small bags of heroin amounting to 3.4 grams, and also about $100 in cash.
Heilman was then located, arrested and charged with dealing in a narcotic drug and possession of a narcotic drug.
