COLUMBUS, Ind. — A one-vehicle crash injured a Columbus woman Monday around 2 p.m.
According to police reports, a car driven by Mary Swinney was southbound on County Road 650E when she drove off the east side of the roadway, struck two mailboxes, and then hit a tree. An off duty Bartholomew County Emergency Operations Center employee was at the scene and helped deputies gain access and free Swinney. Police say seatbelts were apparently not in use. Swinney was taken to an Indianapolis hospital. Her condition is not known.
