GREENWOOD, Ind. — Johnson County detectives are investigating a burglary that took place in Greenwood on Saturday evening.
Police were called to the 5700 block of Columbia Circle at 9:15 p.m. after homeowners saw subjects dressed in dark clothing walking through the neighborhood. According to police reports, officers found a shattered sliding glass door at the back of one of the homes and began to clear the property.
Once it was determined there were no suspects in the home, police began to assess the damage. Detectives say that a fire safe was taken from the master bedroom, numerous items were thrown on the floor, and the home was in disarray. After questioning the homeowner, police have confirmed cash and jewelry was taken, but an inventory is ongoing.
Law enforcement officers are processing evidence collected at the scene.
