TAYLORSVILLE, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Coroner’s Office is investigating the death of an elderly female following a house fire on Charles Street, in Taylorsville, early Monday morning.
Coroner Clayton Nolting was called to the fire, which was reported to 911 at 3:40 a.m. The decedent was identified as Joyce Rodgers, 77, who lived alone in the Charles Street ranch home. Family members were on the scene.
Crews from several emergency agencies fought the blaze.
The coroner’s investigation is assisted by Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office, the Bartholomew County Fire Investigator, and the Indiana Fire Marshal’s Office.
