COLUMBUS, Ind. – Heritage Fund of Bartholomew County (HFBC) has announced that Columbus East High School seniors Hallie Randle and Ariana Simpson are the 2023 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship recipients.
Lilly Endowment Community Scholars are known for their community involvement, character, leadership, and academic achievement. Each award provides full tuition, required fees, and a special allocation of up to $900 per year for required books and equipment for four years.
Randle, daughter of Andrew and Suzanne Randle, has been in Student Assembly, soccer, track, Key Club, National Honor Society, and St. Peter’s Church Youth Group. She will major in Speech-Language Pathology.
Simpson, daughter of Martha Rosalba Dominguez Barradas, was active in Show Choir and Multicultural drama clubs. She plans to major in biology.
HFBC received 48 applications for this year’s scholarships, from which 10 finalists were selected.
The finalists were Jessica Meza Sanchez, Tymon Ferguson, Ella Fisher, Matina Maharjan, and Paula Ramos Perez from Columbus North; Briana Dwenger and Jaclyn Shaw from Columbus Signature Academy-New Tech; and Gracie Greene from Hauser Jr-Sr High School.
To date, 55 Bartholomew County students have been named Lilly Endowment Community Scholars.
