COLUMBUS, Ind. – Bartholomew and surrounding counties were spared any significant damage yesterday after both a tornado warning and a severe thunderstorm warning were issued for the area during the afternoon.
Next week is Severe Weather Preparedness Week in Indiana, but the real deal hit early. Bartholomew County Emergency Management activated sirens around 1:30 p.m. and then two more times just after 2 p.m.
Fortunately, no one was hurt and damage was minimal.
