COLUMBUS, Ind. — The new superintendent for the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation was officially appointed Monday night at the school board meeting.
Dr. Jim Roberts comes to Columbus from Batesville, where he was superintendent for nine years.
Roberts won the District 8 superintendent of the year in 2014 and 2016 from the Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents.
School board secretary Polly Verbanic commented prior to the appointment, “I want BCSC to be the best…the decision was easy.”
Board member Robert Abrams said the key thing in finding a new superintendent was to find one that is well connected to the community, and Roberts stood out among the other applicants.
