COLUMBUS, Ind. – Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation (BCSC) superintendent Dr. Jim Roberts reported on the current state of security and safety initiatives at the BCSC board meeting on Monday evening. The visitor badge system is in full operation, all vestibules in all buildings are locked down, safe visitor software is up and running, and employee badges are to be distributed this week.
Roberts reported that the initial fall-break timeline for completion of all security measures is going to be modified, as work will still be in progress at that time. Ongoing safety training will address one-off situations, being mindful of making visitors feel welcome, and the implicit-bias aspect of disciplinary situations.
