COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Board of Works and Public Safety on Tuesday approved a contract for the manager of Evolution, the public safety training facility due to open later this year.
The facility, located at the Columbus Air Park, will provide training resources for city police and fire departments, training professionals, and personnel from other communities’ public safety departments.
The manager will be retained on a contract basis rather than employed by the city and will be paid from the fire department’s budget. It is anticipated that within a few years, the salary will be paid from the facility’s user fees.
Ray Wagner, who has extensive facility management experience in the hospitality industry, has been selected for the position.
