COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Board of Works and Public Safety on Tuesday authorized Mayor Jim Lienhoop to sign a sub-recipient agreement between the city and Columbus Child Care Center.
The agreement provides the center with Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding from the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The money will be used to replace exterior doors at the Columbus Child Care Center.
The Board also approved an amendment to the Columbus Housing Improvement Program to extend the use of CDBG funds. HUD requires that CDBG funding must meet one of three national objectives: benefitting low and moderate income individuals, eliminating slum and blight, or addressing a detriment to the general public’s health and safety.
