COLUMBUS, Ind. — The Indiana Department of transportation has awarded a $7 million bridge project in Hancock and Henry Counties to Columbus-based Milestone Contractors. The project includes deck replacement, and rehabilitation or deck overlays on seven bridges in the two counties.
Highlights of the project include, rebuilding the twin structures over Six Mile Creek on Interstate 70 at the Hancock/Henry County line, two other structures on I-70 over the Brandywine Creek, repair of a structure on I-70 over Montgomery Creek and an overlay on the I-70 bridge over Hancock County Road 850E. County Road 850E will be closed during this portion of work.
Traffic restrictions are expected in the spring. No schedule details have been released at this time. The work is expected to be completed in November 2017.
