BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. – A Bartholomew County man sustained serious injuries in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of County Road East 100S and County Road South 650E, shortly after 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Authorities at the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office say that Philip Artis, 19, of Columbus, was driving southbound on C.R. 650E and apparently failed to stop at the intersection. Aaron Klene, 33, of North Vernon, the driver of the second vehicle, told officers he applied his brakes but was unable to stop in time to avoid the collision.

Artis was transported by Lifeline to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Klene was uninjured in the accident.
