COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Parks and Recreation Board re-elected current officers to their same positions for 2019, at its Thursday afternoon meeting. Mark Levett will again serve as president, Julie Abedian will continue as vice president and Millie Maier is once again the secretary for the coming year.
The board agreed that the parks department’s four big projects for the year are the new Jolie Crider Memorial Skatepark, planning for the Fair Oaks property, the Commons playground, and the bike and pedestrian plan.
Several appointments were also made during the meeting as Abedian was named to serve on the city plan commission, Maier was designated to serve on the Foundation For Youth board, and parks board member John McCormick was chosen to serve on the cemetery board.
