COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Commissioners signed off on three initiatives that address the area’s substance abuse crisis at their Monday morning meeting.
They approved an interlocal agreement for funding, through a federal Department of Justice grant, for the Adult Drug Recovery Court. Columbus City Council, Bartholomew County Council, and the Columbus Board of Works had already approved the agreement. The court is due to begin hearing cases this spring.
The Commissioners also signed an agreement for one-time funding for renovations for the Fresh Start Recovery Center at Seven
Finally, they acknowledged a $38,492 grant from the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute to be distributed by the Bartholomew County Substance Abuse Council to various governmental bodies, agencies
