COLUMBUS, Ind.—This evening, Columbus City Council will be hearing the first readings of three ordinances that are designed to address a housing need in the community. Vivera Senior Living of Columbus, LLC is seeking a tax abatement among other items in order to build an affordable senior living facility on State Street.
The council’s busy agenda includes funding a men’s in-jail treatment program called REALM (Recovery Enables A Life for Men), based on the Substance Abuse Public Funding Board’s recommendation. Council members will also be considering rezoning requests and adjusting the salaries of officers, employees, and elected officials of the city.
The council meets at 6 p.m., at Columbus City Hall.
