COLUMBUS, Ind. – Following more than 20 recent reports of thefts from vehicles in the Wildflower, Shadow Creek and Cross Creek subdivisions, the Columbus Police Department (CPD) is reminding city residents to confirm that their cars are locked and secured and that they have removed valuables from them. In each of the 20 cases reported to CPD, the vehicles were left unlocked.

Matt Harris, public relations officer with the Columbus Police Department, says officers are continuing extra patrols in these neighborhoods and others on the south side of town.

Anyone observing suspicious behavior should contact the CPD at 812-376-2600.
