COLUMBUS, Ind.–Columbus Regional Health (CRH) announced this week the use of a new hybrid operating suite that is equipped with dedicated advanced medical imaging devices which enable surgeons to perform various minimally-invasive procedures more efficiently and effectively with reduced radiation to patients, staff, and surgeons.
Minimally-invasive procedures allow for less pain and quicker recovery times for patients as opposed to open procedures. The hybrid operating room is equipped with the new Philips Azurion 7 imaging system, allowing surgeons quick and flexible imaging capabilities. CRH states it is the latest in imaging technology and is the only system of its kind in the area.
The facility was designed to enable physicians and staff to visualize the room in a 3D format and allowed the team to plan for optimal, efficient use of the space prior to the construction phase.
The $3.5 million, 2,000-square-foot hi-tech operating suite opened for patient procedures in late August. For more information and a virtual tour visit www.crh.org/news.
