COLUMBUS, Ind. – The city of Columbus announced Tuesday that it is offering Donner Center as a warming center during the extreme cold weather expected in the area through Thursday. The purpose of the warming center is to provide temporary shelter in an effort to prevent injury for any individual who may be exposed to the elements.
Hours:
The Warming Center is open Wednesday, January 30, from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Thursday, January 31, from 6:00 am. to 5:00 p.m.
Location:
Donner Center is at 22nd and Sycamore Streets in Columbus.
Guidelines:
Individuals using the warming center must comply with all Donner Center rules and policies and adhere to the following guidelines:
- Bring your own reading material and other personal items. Amplified sound devices are prohibited.
- Supply your own snacks. A water fountain is available for public use.
- There are no medical services provided at Donner Center.
