COLUMBUS, Ind. – A Columbus man was flown to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle Monday night in Columbus.
Columbus police officers located Benjamin Taylor, 27, of Columbus, unresponsive after being struck by a car in the 1200 block of 13th Street.
Taylor was flown to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for injuries and was placed in the intensive care unit.
Witnesses told police that a vehicle was speeding and Taylor stepped out into the street in an effort to slow down the vehicle before being struck.
Officers were contacted later in the evening by someone who identified the alleged driver.
Benjamin “Seaun” Anderson, 31, of Columbus, was taken into custody and charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving serious bodily injury.
Anderson remains jailed as detectives investigate the crash.
