COLUMBUS, Ind. – Family Service, Inc. held a 50th-anniversary celebration earlier this week at Simmens Winery. Executive director Julie Miller gave remarks and Columbus mayor Jim Lienhoop proclaimed the day as Family Service Day. The agency provides counseling, family life education, presentations, and child abuse prevention services.
Presently located in Suite 2540 at 1351 13th Street, the agency was originally called Family Counseling. The staff has grown from two to twenty over its five decades.
“It was a great turnout,” Miller told Local News Digital about Thursday’s event. “People got to learn more about what we do. It’s not easy to provide the services we do, and it’s gratifying that it’s been a success.”
