INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — President George W. Bush will make two stops in Indiana to support the Todd Young for senate campaign. The former president will stop in Elkhart and Indianapolis on September 12. The times have not yet been announced. Young is in a battle with Evan Bayh for the seat currently held by Republican Dan Coats.
Recently, Young has had to defend his comments about free trade deals in the wake of the Carrier shutdown in Indianapolis. Young has told voters that any deal has to be a good one for American workers.
A recent poll from Monmouth University shows Bayh leading Young 48 to 41 percent with about seven percent of the people polled still undecided.
