FRANKLIN, Ind. — The Indiana State Board of Massage Therapy has voted to immediately suspend the massage therapy license of Franklin resident, Ryan Farmer. Farmer has been charged in Johnson County with three counts of sexual battery while working as a massage therapist.
Farmer was arrested July 4, after three former clients told investigators he inappropriately fondled and groped them during massage therapy sessions. Since then, a fourth client has come forward with additional allegations.
The office of attorney general Greg Zoeller, filed an emergency petition with the board to suspend Farmer’s license in order to protect the safety of the public. “To protect the health and safety of the public, this license holder will not be able to perform massage therapy in the State of Indiana until these serious criminal allegations are resolved,” Zoeller said.
Zoeller urges Hoosiers to be vigilant when seeking professional services and use the state’s check and verify system. A link to that system is here in.gov/pla/3119.htm.
