GREENWOOD, Ind.–The Greater Greenwood Chamber is offering an opportunity to meet candidates for the office of Johnson County Sheriff. The event will be held Thursday, April 12, from 5 to 7 p.m., at The Sycamore at MallowRun Winery. Interested persons are encouraged to make a reservation for the event.
Sheriff candidates who have confirmed their attendance at the event are Duane Burgess, Kirby Cochran, and Stoney Vann. All three are vying for the Republican nomination in the May 8 primary election. The winner will be the party’s candidate in the general election on November 6. The current sheriff, Doug Cox, cannot run in the election due to term limitations. The sheriff serves a four-year term with a maximum of two consecutive terms.
