COLUMBUS, Ind. — Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller visited the Columbus Police Department Thursday afternoon.
Zoeller recognized six law enforcement officers who have administered narcan to save someone suffering from a heroin or prescription pill overdose this year.
The attorney general’s office operates a grant program that funds naloxone training and equipment for law enforcement agencies and other first responders statewide.
Columbus Mayor Jim Lienhoop announced the formation of the Heroin Overdose Response Initiative in Bartholomew County during the State of the City on Tuesday.
Zoeller was at the Seymour Police Department Wednesday.
