GREENWOOD, Ind.–It’s official. There is very good news for the city of Greenwood as it will soon be home to the new Amazon.com distribution hub. Greenwood Mayor Mark Myers says the $80 million project will bring $2 million in public infrastructure improvements to the city as well.
The location chosen by Amazon was initially going to be a FedEx distribution hub until those plans fell through in February. There is no word at this time as to when construction will begin.
Starting pay at the 615,000-square-foot facility will be double the state’s current minimum wage for the 1,250 full-time jobs that are expected to be filled.
