FRANKLIN, Ind.–The Johnson County Community Foundation (JCCF) recently awarded 11 organizations a total of $72,000 through their Grants Program. The annual effort offers endowments to nonprofit organizations for charitable programs and projects in Johnson County or those serving Johnson County residents.
The 2018 recipients include:
- Beats for Bristol, Inc. ($6,000) To provide fetal Dopplers for women experiencing high-risk pregnancies and to support coordinator training for bereavement counseling.
- Cancer Support Community Central IN ($6,500) To fund “creation-of-comfort” kits for patients undergoing chemotherapy at Franciscan Health Indianapolis and Community Health Network South.
- Discover Downtown Franklin ($10,000) To fund art installations in two alleyways during the inaugural Franklin Art Fair.
- Franklin Active Adult Center ($3,379) To provide for the upholstery materials and labor for 40 chairs and to support the purchase of a large capacity range.
- Johnson County Parks and Recreation ($10,000) To purchase equipment for the new bike playground.
- Joy’s House ($10,000) To provide guest scholarships for residents taking part in the Adult Day Care Program, and to increase program marketing.
- KIC-IT ($10,000) To help clients supply their new homes with household essentials.
- St. Thomas Clinic ($4,000) To help fund five new laptops.
- Town of New Whiteland Parks Department ($5,000) To purchase 23 new trees, replacing those lost to an ash borer infestation.
- Turning Point Domestic Violence Services ($3,290.50) To provide training and materials specifically for the growing Burmese population.
