FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Johnson County Community Foundation (JCCF) Color the County Mural Program joins artists and communities through the collaborative process of mural making to create powerful art that can transform public spaces, neighborhood identities, and individual lives. Individuals, businesses, and government agencies are invited to submit proposals for site locations for the fourth annual mural program.
It is expected that the artwork will create a pedestrian-friendly, aesthetically pleasing environment for visitors and community members. Murals will be created on a building or structure that is clearly visible to pedestrians and motorists and easily viewable from the street or sidewalk.
The goal of the Johnson County Community Foundation’s Color the County Mural Program is to spread public art around the community. Interested individuals or parties should submit pictures and the address of a potential mural location to Kim Minton at kimm@jccf.org by February 22. Since the program’s inception, JCCF has installed murals in Franklin, Whiteland, Bargersville, and Edinburgh.
